Graphite Studio was formed in 2001 by Simon Brims and Donatella Nocco.

Simon (b. Belfast, N. Ireland 1968) graduated with a Degree and Diploma in Architecture from the University of Edinburgh in 1993 and Donatella (b. Turin, Italy, 1970) graduated in Civil Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in 1997.

Simon is a Chartered Architect (Associate of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and member of the Royal Institute of British Architects).

Simon & Donatella set up the practice after working in a variety of architectural offices in Edinburgh and Turin. From its inception, Graphite Studio has concentrated on quality contemporary design and property development.
